HELPING CHILDREN IN WEST AFRICA GET THE EDUCATION THEY NEED
Too many children in Africa simply can’t afford school. It’s no different in the town of Parakou in Northern Benin. Our highly focused charity raises money to Keep Kids in School - every penny of which goes into helping hundreds of children get the schooling they need.
A UNIQUE CHARITY WITH AN AMAZING STORY
The organisation we help, called APEED - Benin, was started by students for students. They realised that they could join together to help each other. The story of its founder, Barth Sodansou, is all their stories: Tough family life and a need to work to pay to learn. Listen to Barth's story, how he grew APEED from his own predicament of not being able to afford to go to school to help over 100 kids stay in school every year. APEED now has its own library, raises its own funds, lobbies local government to help kids and holds tuition sessions.
